Nothing Better

As I sit here on the lana'i or veranda or patio and look out to the ocean I am reminded that there is nothing better than being on vacation. The weather is about 78 degrees with filtered sunshine. The ocean is green in places and blue further out. There are whales spouting on the horizon and surfers (about 13) trying to catch a wave. I can smell the sweet scent of...burning bacon. Alas, there is always an awareness of reality when you vacation with your parents..my dad just burned the bacon trying to make himself a BLT. Snapped back to reality!

I also am trying to write a 15 page research paper (with a table of contents, abstract and 8-10 references) by Saturday. I have about 8 pages done, but it's hard when I want to go play. I am proud of myself that I've finished, with relative success, the first quarter of my PhD. program. It is now something I think I can resolve to do and finish.

I do wish I could bring friends and family with me..but I do have a HUGE surprise to bring home with me...that none of you will guess! I'm so excited!

I am guessing a dolphin and we will create a pound outside of Mosaic - and it will leap over the entrance as people arrive. We have nice new deep brown floors and stuff is loading in - in just a few days.

oops meant a pond - not sure what a dolphin would do with a pound?

HA HA!! It's a great surprise and one that will keep on giving and giving....I can't wait, but was sworn to secrecy!

You'll probably figure it out before too long...if you think, long, hard and far away.

So, it has to be Hill and Phil...but that is huge!!

Bree just brought me another latte, delivered to my door! We're going to be working on the bathrooms tonight! The maps and flowers look great. Nothing is completely done, we got the bottom part of each bathroom done so they can put the mop board down around the bottom...so exciting, we have the pastor's luncheon tomorrow, we got babysitting so I actually get to help make coffee drinks! I'm going over this afternoon to practice - we miss you!

You keep saying it is a huge surprise - if in fact it is a person, not sure if huge is a good word to use. Perhaps fantastic would be best. Unless you are bringing home a sumo wrestler? that would be huge and I know huge.

About Me

I work at a Christian School district only 4 miles from my home. The people there are full of grace and love and I am glad to be a part of this ministry. I have a neice and nephew whom I love dearly. They are 12 and almost 15 respectively. I have two amazing sisters and two amazing brothers-in-law. Of course, I would not be here if it were not for my mother agreeing to marry my dad. Good going mom! My parents are my life and I would literally be NOTHING without their unconditional love, support and care. You rock mom and dad. Then there's Will & Lora...their giggles are like sunshine and their parents crack me up too.
