What's on your I-pod?

I went to the dentist on Tuesday to get 3 cavities filled. It sucked, except that I brought my I-pod with me to listen to in lieu of the drilling. The assistant asked me what was on my I-pod and I told her that was a very personal question. She agreed and said she probably wouldn't want people to know what was on hers.

But, of course, I pondered this for a bit and thought...what the heck...so the call is out - what is the strangest thing on your I-pod, personal MP3 player, in your CD collection or on whatever personal listening device you have?? This could be fun!

I have everything from Casting Crowns to Tupac and I love it. Time for true confessions! Mom, what are you listening to? CW? Scot F? Lori? Kathryn & DJ Juicy? Time to dish - plus it's fun for a Friday!!

P.S. To Amy my blog friend...i retracted my comments cause they were kind of mean - sorry to mess up your blog :-) but Matthew 6:18 really made me wonder at some of your other commenters...

Wow...we have pretty random stuff...everywhere from Tommy James and the Shondells to Black Eyed Peas. Probably the lamest thing we have on there, which is of course my selection, would be the soundtrack to the Whitney Houston movie, "The Preacher's Wife"
So there you go.

Good question! I am all across the board when it comes to music I like. My favorite is probably jazz and big band music. Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller, and Louis Armstrong are my favorites. As far as contemporary artists, I love Norah Jones, Harry Connick, Jr. and Corrine Bailey Rae. I love all music - you know, it's really hard to find a good country station in Seattle!

You asked for it - no laughing. The neatest CD I have is one of guitar music done by a man named Lester Estelle. He was a student of mine in my third grade class in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. They were "dirt poor". Really, his house had dirt floors. This year a friend who also taught at that school saw him at a concert, and he asked her about me. So I found his website and ordered one of his CDs. I also have Ray Charles, sound track to "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou", Manhatten Transfer, and the Beach Boys.

MOM! Why did you post as anonymous...that story is worthy of a book on it's own.

What is his website? I should post it here...

I don't have any fancy music device...the strangest thing about my music collection is how varied it is. I have Andrea Bocelli to Scott Stamp from Creed and every thing in between. I guess the most shocking thing is that I'm sort of a closet headbanger. Not anything too crazy but I love the old bands from the late 70's early 80's, like Foreigner, Boston, the Eagles, Styx....and I still like to keep current. Not your typical pastor's wife.....

I forgot to put in my name - didn't mean to be anonymous. Lester's website is: www.lesterestelle.com. He looks just like he did in third grade in 1967!

DJ Juicy has everything from Gaithers to Megadeth. But the one thing that I had to get use to the most when we got married was the tejano music. My favorite is a little diddy that goes like this "I met her at the mercado, she was buying alvacados. Man she really turned me on. She reached for my pepper, I grabbed her tomatoes and we made guacamole all night long." How is that for some culture shock! As for me, I am anything from Garth Brooks (STOP IT)to Clay Aiken (REALLY STOP IT) to Beyonce and LL Cool J. How is that for random. (I SAID STOP MAKING FUN OF ME.)

About Me

I work at a Christian School district only 4 miles from my home. The people there are full of grace and love and I am glad to be a part of this ministry. I have a neice and nephew whom I love dearly. They are 12 and almost 15 respectively. I have two amazing sisters and two amazing brothers-in-law. Of course, I would not be here if it were not for my mother agreeing to marry my dad. Good going mom! My parents are my life and I would literally be NOTHING without their unconditional love, support and care. You rock mom and dad. Then there's Will & Lora...their giggles are like sunshine and their parents crack me up too.
